    1 season Jarbidge plus pad

Any guesses on a realistic low temp estimate for a 1 season Jarbidge plus a thermarest pad rated at 2.8? I'd like to get my son into a hammock tonight but it's supposed to get down to 40 in northern WI. I don't wanna set him up for failure, but this is the only bottom insulation option I have with me right now.

Would you you put the pad in between the UQ and the hammock?

I can't speak for the pad. I have a 1 season jarbidge and I've taken it down to 45 with a 15f sleeping bag for top. I was very comfortable. Without the bag, and a woobie instead was too cold for me. A emergency blanket between the uq and hammock would have done the trick. I'm a cold sleeper. Hope that helps you some
    I'd rather be hanging.

Thanks, brazilanguy. I'll probably let him give it a try unless someone else chimes in and says no way. There's a tent and cabin nearby so there is little risk.

Tried it. I'm not sure it actually got down to 40, but my boy slept like a rock til about 8:30 am and woke up warm.

I've had mine down to 31* with a 40* sleeping bag on top. Got a little chilly in the morning, but no big deal.
