    fleece top quilt temps

The low temps will be about 50F. Anyone have experience with a fleece TQ. Would it work for this temp. What's the lowest temp you have used a fleece TQ.

I only have experience with a fleece blanket and I do alright with it into the upper 60's I'd guess, but I wouldn't make it comfortably thru the night with out a little more. Now if you put a nylon cover on you fleece blanket that would help stop the 'wind' a bit, so that my add a few degrees of temp, but certainly more bulk. It should also be noted that I am a cold sleeper.
    Good luck,

I'm what I consider a "normal / average" temp sleeper and I'd be cold in the 50s w/just a fleece blanket. A poncho liner, OTOH has taken me into the 50s on more than one occasion.

I've used a fleece blanket (actually a fleece sleeping bag opened up) and 20* underquilt somewhere into the 50's comfortably in shorts and a T-shirt. With some longjohns and a hoodie, I think 50.0* would be comfortable as well. The key is having the underquilt that wraps around your shoulders and provides most of the warmth. With just a pad and fleece blanket in those temps, I froze. If you just have a pad and no UQ, I'd recommend hunkering in a sleeping bag instead.

I used one once and was a bit chilly at 3AM with just fleece. It was around 48º.

I have a fleece liner. I've had it down around 55* and been fine. I wouldn't take it any lower than that. YMMV

As a caveat to my earlier post, the posts after mine probably would have been similar to my results had I used my UQ instead of a thin pad, but I was trying out a pad for some crazy reason.

So you're bottom insulation does have a huge impact in how warm the fleece will be.

I will be using an UQ and I totally forgot, I have a light hammock sock (1.0 material). I think I will be ok. What do you guys think?

I use a fleece bag liner during the warmer summer months along with a summer UQ. It's good to the low sixties and gets supplemented with a silk liner if it's going to drop down to the 50's.
