    DIY Lazy Slug Tubes Rock!

Woot! I made a set of Lazy Slug Tubes last night out of the same fabric as my hammock, which is one of those polyester crinkle taffeta tablecloth ones. I used half a tablecloth to make them with the narrow end (10 inches) cinched up and the large end (15 inches) left open, (probably going to use velcro dots to do the closures). ANYWAY….I stuffed my hammock, down sleeping bag, bug net and gear hammock into them and stuffed the whole thing in the bottom of my GoLite 50 Jam...:thumb up: Wow. The whole thing filled up less than half of the Jam… I filled the rest of the pack up with my cooking gear, clothes, food and tarp and still had room left over. The last time I hiked, the Jam was full and it had the exact same gear in it, just without the LSTs. Color me Impressed. I might try to make a pair of Snake Skins for the tarp…. I will try to post pics later if anyone is interested.

Sweet! Having such an easy, quick way to deploy and take down is awesome. And as you pointed out, the packablility factor ain't bad either!

I'd be curious about pictures. Your skins are what others refer to as snake skins, right?

Skins are smaller around, Tubes are bigger.

I love the all-in-one packing approach. My variation uses a large roll-top dry bag.
