Great report. You've definitely put this park on the radar for me. Loved your two pics. Did you like the Shearwater? I rented one on my last two trips and was pleased with the way it handled.

I've used them a couple times. They are pretty stable but sit pretty high on the water so the way you trim it is super important and sudden gusts can turn you around quick. Overall a good boat. I chose to rent it over the osprey because it has a higher weight limit (and I'm not in the lightweight category). I really don't have enough experience to widely compare it to other solos though. Giblets paddled the keewadin 15 on the last EGL trip and liked it.
Thanks for replying. I'm not a particularly experienced canoeist, so I can't really compare. I usually tell AO to give me a solo boat. I've tried an Osprey, Keewaydon 15, and Shearwater, and apart from the added length of the Shearwater, they seemed pretty much the same to me. Always good to hear someone else's perspective.
Wow, what a great trip. I hope you noted the site number of that perfect spot on the cliff for next time!
There is no try, only do.
Massassauga? I thought it was pronounced "Moose will squeeze ya" ?
Just to confuse you even further, there is a city in Ontario, Canada that is call Mississauga. Massassauga is the name of a provincial park where this trip took place. One final note there is a rattlesnake that is known as the Massassauga rattler and is found in that particular area of the Province.
Cheers
