Guess I'll add to this never-ending thread...

Just ordered a 1.1 single to replace my 1.7 double that went to another forum member.

Just took delivery of my new 1.1 single BB. Man this thing is light!
Already hung it in the backyard and tested it. Much better lay for me than the 1.7 double I had before.

    Thanks Brandon!

I've owned a 1.7 double for a couple of seasons now. I loved it, but according to Brandon's new website info, it was really meant for someone heavier than me and max flatness achieved at around 300 lbs.

The 1.7 double always produced a ridgeline of material which gathered under my knees. Yes, I could have stuffed something down there to help minimize the pressure. Lots of people do that. I really wasn't excited about having to do that. Didn't matter how I hung the hammock, either.

Since I'm around 150 lbs soaking wet, I really wasn't utilizing my assets in the most efficient manner for the 1.7 double. When the new 1.1 single came out and I saw the specs, it seemed more my style.

Sure enough, after taking delivery and quickly opening the box yesterday afternoon, I ran out to the backyard and hung the 1.1 single and climbed in. No ridgeline of material creating pressure under my knees and it just seemed to fit me better.

    Alan,
so comparing apples to apples .....
so how much lighter is the single 1.1 compared to the double 1.7?

    I got a double 1.7
and thinking about getting a single 1.1 ........
and using it for backpacking in the Adirondacks
and doing all 46 High Peaks in about a month's time.
I'd use my double 1.7 as a base camp,
but use the single 1.1 for peakbaging.

According to Brandon's website, the 1.7 double can range from 36.5-40oz and the 1.1 single can range from 20-24oz. The difference is quite significant!

I've been pondering the 1.1DL or 1.1 single
DL for a couple of reasons. option to add a pad & skeeters

I'm 120lbs so the 1.1 single is in my weight category but prefer DL
I'm curious if others who have the 1.1DL and are considerably lighter than the 200lb max flatness get the ridgeline of material?
