Just got on the list today . Had a great experience in my Hammock Bliss recently where we had several hours of rain and I stayed completely dry under a 10x10 coated nylon tarp. I can only imagine how much better the WBBB will be.

Time to watch the sand fall in the hour glass . . . .

I can't wait to get my BB. I'm thinking about installing two mounting points in my living room so I can lay in it...I won't be able to do any camping until after November.

I am waiting for mine to ship. Looking forward to hanging it in the backyard and finding out what all the fuss is about hammocks. Probably won't get back out into the woods until spring now.

and don't wait until spring, I watch tv in mine all the time!
and that would be in the ac environment of the indoors
as it's still over 80 degrees-ish and very humid outside!

Thanks for the welcome. I plan on spending a few nights out in the backyard this rainy season figuring out how to use and equip a hammock. But the Olympics, where I do all my backpacking, are headed into their wetter phase so, unless we have a brief Indian Summer, this fair weather camper will likely stay home.

I ordered my double 1.7 a week ago, expecting it to ship in another week or so. I plan to give it a test run in my back yard as soon as I get it. If the rain continues, I will see how well my GG White Lightening tarp works with it. Should get in a couple one-nighters over the fall and winter.

    i cant freakin wait!!

Hi all, i just got on the list last night for a dl 1.7 blackbird and brandon said it should be about three weeks. i decided on a right zip model with the webbing strap suspension. i finally decided to jump on the hammock train after spending about the last month solid every night reading through a lot of these threads and just getting more and more obsessed. i am a pretty avid backpacker and have to say the thing i liked least was sleeping on the ground. about 6 weeks ago i was with 5 friends on the thunder swamp trail in pa and one of my buddies pulled out an eno double nest with all the trimmings. after laying in it i was absolutely sold! im kind of ocd when it comes to researching purchases and didnt want to run out and grab the eno instantly. from what ive read i hope ive made the right choice with the bb.
Ive gotta say too that all of the innovation and passion for hammocking on this forum is awesome. it looks like my wife now has to deal with another obsession(besides brewing beer and backpacking). now the first of many questions i throw out to you guys as a newbie is which tarp do you recommend and why? i have an insulated air core and some ccfs i will use for insulation. if it were up to me i would probably just buy one of every tarp i could find but i have those annoying things(wife, son, son, daughter, taxes, car payments,mortgage....) that hold me back. so for great value for money and quality im looking for input. the extremes of the kind of weather i see is maybe the teens and rain/snow(if i cant help it). thanks in advance, luke

There are many great choices available. I am partial to my tarp, which is very lightweight SpinnUL material and is made by Brian at OES (http://www.outdoorequipmentsupplier.com/); several sizes available; you can count on not having to buy another tarp after choosing one of these. You can also find excellent tarp choices at WarbonnetOutdoors.com and Jacksrbetter.com. Each of these vendors make products that you will be happy with, they stand behind their products, give great customer service, and use their own products hammocking. These are just the ones I have done business with--I'm sure you will receive other recommendations from others on this site. Good luck.

He is an engineering student at school- sewing is worked on in between school assignments. some delay is inevitable, but most people with a maccat will tell you it is worth the wait.
(Thinking about getting one my self- must arrainge some sheckles first.)
