    HUG with footbox?

I really like the idea of dejoha's HUG Half Bug Net, but I have one problem, and that's that my feet tend to get hot very easily above 60 degrees. I kick open the foot end of my top insulation and get annihilated by biters.

Has anybody tried incorporating a footbox with the HUG? Essentially, just an extended version that would be doubled back and sewn at the end for a place to put your feet. Additional lines could be added to keep that material off you. Here's a concept of what it would look like:

Would this work, and what would be the best way to go about doing it - just extending the design's length out, or tapering toward the feet? The idea came from some of the back-and-forth between dejoha and SGT Rock regarding the winter HUG, so I'm just wondering if anyone ever tried this out?

    HUG with footbox?

If you got a TQ that cinches closed I bet you could build a piece of netting to nest in the end. Maybe use a couple of the dutch quilt clips to hold it im place. Just an idea. I'm thinking if you want to extend the hug that way you may as well make a full length hug that the end tucks under your feet. That's a lot of extra netting, maybe the TQ idea could work?

Edit: Sorry no photo, I'm not the editor you are.

I thought you meant almost creating a double HUG - as illustrated. It would be heavier than your version, my concern would be keeping the netting far enough off your feet and legs to avoid bites through the netting.

The netting resting on my body was my main concern too. I think I'll scrap this idea for a bug net and just go with a simple tube design. I may revisit this concept for sock/bivvy/WHUG. I recently scooped up a SOL Escape Bivvy and have some ideas floating around. I'll probably spin up a new thread on that project.
