47°!!! That's awesome! I'm trying to find a weekend to get up there and do some backpacking on the U-Bar Trail. My pack is loaded and ready to go, but my jetskiing activities seem to get in the way.

Curious if a fire is allowed for the evening get together and is there a place for one?

Yes fire is allowed and there are several fire rings. We have picked one out in enter of camp for the office social camp fire. Hang out all around and gather as desired. You can hang 2 or 3hundreds away if you want and still be in sight of Base Camp or find privacy camp if you want. Coconino Forest is BIG. Plenty of Firewood around. Brining my Sven Saw and M 45 Military Assault Hatchet. I have heard Story's of the Mongolian Monster and/or BigFoot.

I might possibly be interested in attending this hang, I cannot commit so far out as I have no clue what my call schedule will be at work just yet.

If I knew I could grab a lift up/down with someone it becomes more practical for me to come. My previous post to that effect didn't get any bites yet. FWIW, I'd come bearing gifts of gas money...

If I attended, I would be coming from Tucson and I would happily have an open seat for you, only condition is you would have to fly into and out of Tucson. Phoenix airport would be quite a ways out of my way on my route up to Payson and the rim.

Thanks for the generous offer of a lift from Tucson. Flights there look to be nearly twice as expensive as coming into Phoenix, so I'm inclined to keep hoping I can find a lift from there before I consider plan B.

Will you know if you will be attending at least a few weeks in advance?
