Thanks for the generous offer of a lift from Tucson. Flights there look to be nearly twice as expensive as coming into Phoenix, so I'm inclined to keep hoping I can find a lift from there before I consider plan B.

Will you know if you will be attending at least a few weeks in advance?

I will know at least 3 weeks in advance of the date if I can make it or not. If I can make it and you still have not found a ride from Phoenix, then I could be persuaded to grab you at the Phoenix airport if it would save you a nice chunk of change flying into Phoenix instead of Tucson.

So this is more of a car camp/hang but it's being done in an area that's very remote from a normal campground. There is also a lot of great hiking in the vicinity so you kinda get the best of both...

Earlier today flights to Tucson were $150 more than to Phoenix. Now they are nearly the same price. I guess the best thing to do is for me to check again once you know your schedule. I wouldn't want you to change your route for me, but looking at the map it almost seemed faster to go through Phoenix from Tucson to maximize speedy interstate driving. Am I misinterpreting the location? The hang is a fair distance NE of Phoenix right?

The GF and I might be able to make it up there. It all depends on work. You can add us to the list or we might just stop in if we get the chance. The temps definitely drop at night up there. we were up there last weekend next to turkey creek and glad we brought the underquilts and the tarps cause it rained on us for about 14 hours straight.

I'll try and let you know as soon as I know what my call schedule is. From where I depart in Tucson, my route would not take me through Phoenix. It would take me along the outskirts of the East side of the city allowing me to bypass the ridiculous traffic and Phoenix highways.

Either way, if I can make it I'd be willing to grab you from either Phoenix or Tucson airport...whichever would be a cheaper flight for you.

So now that things are kinda firming up, do we need to get this hang added to the Official calendar on the HF site? Also do we want to plan any type of informal pot-luck dinner Saturday night? How about folks bringing gear to sell or trade?

I was just up in the area this weekend, and I'm not sure where 47 degrees is happening. I was literally sweating most of the night. The early morning got down to maybe the 60's. But then again, this was July with temps reaching 100+. I'm sure Sept will bring cooler temps. IMG_4041 - Copy.jpg
