Paracord stretches too much for consistency. Zing-it or Lash-it are popular choices. If you want something stronger go with Dynaglide or Amsteel. The latter two are a bit much but if you end up with a lot of tension on the RL like if your trees are farther apart than is optimal, then having the extra strength is good. I have Amsteel RL's on my hammocks mostly because I had a lot of Amsteel on hand.

Are talking ridge line for your hammock or tarp ?
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
I use1.75mm Zing-it (from Samson Rope) for my hammock and 1.2mm tech line (from www.DIYGearSupply.com) for my tarp.

Zing-it or Lash-it 1.75 is where most end up. Both take a decent splice and work with most available hardware, especially Dutchware.
Mason line will work as well, just not as well, but better than paracord, and it's cheap and available locally. Great for prototypes and can work as tie-outs as well until you can find the time and money to get an order from Redden Marine in the mail box.
Signature suspended
I like to use zing it for my ridgeline
Either one you don't want Paracord for. Either one you don't want a line that will stretch.
Pick any small cord that is listed by the cottage shops as a guy line, or suspension cord. Lash-it, Zing-it, Dynaglide, so on and so on are good options for either type of ridge line.

Mason line is no good for a hammock ridgeline. I use 1.75 mm Zing-It for hammock ridgeline, tarp ridgeline and tarp guylines.

Good old 1/8 in polyester sash/utility solid braid cord also works very well. Also is cheap, takes knots well and is available in most hardware stores. ;-)
YMMV
