    Greetings from New Mexico

    Hey everyone,
My names mike, i just recently found this awesome site. I have been camping since I was 6 months old, and backpacking for the last 12 years just recently purchased my first hammock. Its amazing, just have to get used to it, a little different off the ground. Any advice is appreciated

Thanks, it is beautiful and has lots of diverse terrain... we tend to call it the Land of Entrapment for those who live here dont tend to move away lol.

I've done a few one nighters up in the Organ mts, but never been to the Gila with the hammock.
This coming labor day weekend, my dad, three brothers-in-law and I are planning on backpacking from Alamogordo to our cabin near Sacramento and Weed, NM. That one should take us about three days.

Welcome from "West" West Texas I'm right on the NM border and spend most of my time camping in NM. There will be a Group Hang in Az. in September if your interested. Should be alot of fun and a great way to see what folks are using. This is a great Place to learn, full of really helpful folks. Have fun!
