    What UQ Temp Rating?

I'm looking at ordering another incubator from HG for the warmer parts of fall and spring. To start, I already have a HG incubator in 0deg and a 20deg Burrow w/ sewn foot box. I'm looking at getting a 30deg or 40deg incubator. Will the 30 deg incubator be to hot when it's in the high 60's to low 70's? From what I've been reading around here it's good to have bottom insulation once the temps start getting into the mid 70's.

Anything below 30deg outside and I plan on using my 0deg.

    Any suggestions, thought or comments?

I don't think so. I use my 20* UQ in those temps, and just hang it a little loose to vent.

The nice thing about under quilts is that gravity will help you vent them to dial in a range of temperatures.
That same gravity is working against that principle with a top quilt.
I'M, it's more useful to have a variety of top quilts than under quilts. I think a 0° and a 30° UQ will cover most of your bases.

You need to really decide, where, how often, and what temp ranges you really expect to be hanging in.

For example, I will not hike in the summer heat, but I might hang at a festival or two. I also don't anticipate hanging in weather much below 15 F. I don't mind the cold as much as the heat, but I just never seem to hike beyond those two points.

A 40/20 TQ UQ combo works best for me. At festivals a light sheet or fleecie with no quilts, is all thats needed, and down to, and below 20 F, I can supplement the 40/20 insulation package with additional base layers, hat, socks, hood, for the unexpected dip beyond what the kit can handle.

Individually people also sleep colder and warmer. When I'm comfortable, my wife thinks she's going hypothermic. There can be a wide range.
