Putting it on my calendar as a tentative weekend for me to get out and get into the woods. Not really trying to 'organize' a hang, just planning on hitting the woods, and willing to share that time with anyone who shows up.
Changed my backpack/gear configuration around a good bit, and need to do a test of it.
I will keep an eye on those dates

I've traded down to a smaller pack...but...it's a military style medium assault pack.
Not much if any in the way of weight reduction. But organization is MUCH improved, and the pack is much lower on my back, making it more comfortable and easier to wear a sun hat. I've also factored in a REAL first aid kit, a good portable water filter system, and set it up so that I carry my Goal Zero solar panel for recharging phone/tablet/headlamp/ENO lights.
Unfortunately, it ramps up the whole "military look" a bit more than I'd like, but worth the ability to quickly find specific items instead of digging through one giant dump pouch, which is how my Osprey pack operates.
Sidenote...this also led to me picking up my first titanium cookpot set.
I may end up posting a 'gear review' type vid on youtube at some point outlining some of what I'm doing and why.
Wish I could make this but just not going to happen. I just got a JRB Nest so I plan to hang this winter, after the NCAA football season ends.

OK...so had a discussion with 'momma' last night, and she's aware of my plans for the next few weekends. Sat, Aug 9th, I'll be doing the Hammock Camping Q&A Session during their Swap'n'Shop'n'Adopt event. I'll be out at Woodridge for weekend mentioned in this thread for camping. I plan on getting out there sometime Friday (may take that as time off so I can get out there early). I'm not sure yet if Weasel is coming or not, and not sure if I'm going to setup at the trailhead, or someplace further in. Thrown an invite out to Ramenshaman, and going to throw an invite to Dudorino as well.
Owl what/where is this swap'n'shop'n'adopt event? Just curious. . .
