ViDEO: A Night in the Warbonnet Ridge Runner Bridge Hammock

Finally got out for a whole night in the Warbonnet Ridge Runner Bridge Hammock...loved it))))) Mine is a double layer with whoopee sling suspension. With the spreader bars (12 ounces) it has a total weight of 35.5 ounces or 2.21 pounds
Mighty fine night in the rainy, skeetery woods.
Strung Out and myself just met for an overnighter. You can see his custom made hammock with built in down insulation as well. He is crafty that feller.

I want to try the ridgerunner, but man that's heavy for a hammock. If only there was some way to rent one...

Neat contraption you had there man. Someday I might fashion a bridge rig. It was fun feeding the skeeters with ya. Big Moon is out again. Cheers!

It only feels heavy if you pick up your lightest hammock rig at the same time. Very comfortable though. I was duly impressed.

I just spent a week in my ridge runner at scout camp. I think it's perfect for extended warm weather trips. I find it more airy and the saddlebags are fantastic. My 12 rl HG cuben hex fits it great but you are right you have to flare it out so that the bars don't harm the tarp. But I find that gets more of a breeze too. It rained almost every day and my hammock never got wet. Enjoyed the video, please keep them coming.

Cafe Shug...where all the classy skeeters go to eat.

If I can just loose another 25 lbs then I might be able to talk the wife into letting me get a ridgerunner. I don't know if she likes it because its as comfortable as she claims or she just enjoys having a hammock she knows I can not use.

Great video Shug! Glad you like the Ridgerunner---I love it so much I bought 2---a net and no net version! Have you tried trekking poles for spreader bars? I've been using the "mountain smith" camera mono pod trekking poles for spreader bars. Works great! (and pretty cheap!)
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Sure, not the lightest option out there, but its all relative. (very well built--maybe even over built to last for a very long time, you WILL be comfortable, no calf ridge , no hyper extended knees, a bridge UQ is a little smaller than a GE UQ, etc.) plus if you use trekking poles as spreader bars, the weight is more reasonable! I will gladly carry a few more ounces in exchange for a comfortable nights sleep!
