    lightweight Tarp

    Hey Guys,

I'm on a super tight budget but I am looking for a light and compact tarp.

I have been forced to use a blue plastic tarp the last couple of trips and having all that extra weight & space killer has been brutal.

Let me know if you have any collecting dust that you are looking to get rid of.

If you don't find a seller, try MYOG (make your own gear) using silnylon from some of the suppliers here. An easy build is a rectangle tarp. Start by sewing the long edges together to whatever length you want. Then sew the tarp perimeter.

End by folding the tarp on the ridgeline and sew grosgrain to the RL. This will make for a strong RL that keeps the fabric from ripping. Add your RL tieouts and guyline tieouts to corners and side edges and your done. It's not a cottage made catcut tarp, but works great.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.
