    Which ends up?

I've been hanging in a hammock for the last year or so and really enjoy it but I find that I "sink" down and have to pull myself back up quite a bit. I hang my hammock with the end level but I starting to think that maybe I should try with the feet end higher to stop this.
Does anyone else have the same issue and what do I need to do to fix it? In the past with tents I've put strips of seam sealer across the floor to keep from sliding. Would this work? I hate to damage my hammock if there's a easier/better way.

I would recommend that you hang the foot end 4-6" higher and give that a try. Also remember that the heaviest part of your body is likely your torso (some of us by a large margin ) and this heavier portion will always tend to move toward the lowest part of the hammock.

Great points, I'm also thinking that if I made the ridge line shorter it may make for a flatter lay and I would be able to stay somewhat in one place. Thanks

FWIW - I had the same problem/question when I first started to hang - solved it by (1) hanging foot end as described above and (2) learning to lay at a little more of an angle than I had. I first tried to be in-line with the hammock but that made me feel like a folded up banana - laying head right foot left has made things much more comfortable. YMMV.

I've learned I like the foot end almost a foot higher. Just need to experiment with it.

Shug, is that an example of the "foot higher" method, in your profile picture?

Seeing how this is almost solved (don't want to hijack), but I have not gotten a good answer from other post about hanging and the 30* angle... To get the "foot end" higher, is it better to raise the tree straps or tighten the webbing on the one end - that raises the bottom of the hammock higher than the ground and causes a taunter (is that even a word, lol) hammock ridge line?
