    Welcome!!
As someone who frequents your area (Quinnesec) I wonder how you did with the mosquito issue while camping?? I'm currently using a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro and was planning on doing a motorcycle trip up in the Keeweenaw in the next few weeks.. My last visit to Iron Mountain about 6 weeks ago was crazy with mosquitos.. 20 seconds with a car door open resulted in dozens of the little blood suckers.. Just wondering how you did with them during the trip and how they currently are??

And if CamoEvo can pipe up, that'd be great as I was also going to hang out at a buddy's place by Silver City??

I just did 37 miles on the NCT this week. Tuesday the temp was only around 60, and the skeeters were no problem, Wednesday they were fine until 7pm, temp around 70, then they swarmed me for 2 hours until I hit Bob lake and they disappeared. Thursday they swarmed me for a couple hours leaving Bob lake area, then they calmed down but still kept me company. You might have a black fly problem in Silver City near the lake, not sure though.

The camp we went to was a little north of Rhinelander. Mosquitos were horrendous every day with the exception of a few bright afternoons. I had to leave my fly in position due to intermittent rain, and I figured out that the buggers were using it as a shady hideaway during the day. At night one or two would sneak in with me, but after they were dispatched, the rest of the night was good. I see you work on paper machines. You might have run into my father in law or soon to be son in law if Verso is what brings you to the area.

I work for the actual paper machine supplier so I'm usually someplace different every week.. (International Falls this week)

While I know the farmers are happy with this year's rain, I'm starting to think about building bat houses just to help control the skeeter population! They'd be FAT BATS!!!

Bat population up here took a nose dive thanks to a fungus that developed on their noses over the winter. It really devastated them. Some people are blaming the awful mosquito season at least partly on the absence of bats, but I haven't actually had that confirmed by people who know about such things.

Welcome to the forum. My Mother is from Alpha on route 424, I just looked on a map and saw the town didn't have a name.
