Quick turtle dog top rail question

    Hey all,
Didn't have time to search as Im at the big orange store now and would like to get all supplies while Im here.

I believe many of you use a 10.6 fence rail as your top rail/crossbar/whatever u want to call it.

Is this long enough for most circumstances?

    Thnx

That is what I used. The thought being that I could add a piece later if necessary. So far though it has worked out fine for me. I have not spent a night in it yet but the lay seems right though.
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

I started with one; added a short piece later using a sleeve for 12' overall length.

What about using two pieces of 1.375-in top rail for each of the tripod legs?

It depends on what kind of hammock you have. I use a 15ft ridge pole for my WBRR.

Also extreme over build of my tripods. I'm an over builder by nature I suppose given that I also use 1/8" amsteel for suspension.

Yeah, weight isn't a huge concern with my yard setup. My tripods are 8 ft 2 x 6's that are ripped in half.
