Safari doesn't fit right (snake skins)

Took my new safari apart installed whoopies on each end. Mine has the two holes not the sewn ends just an fyi for searches ordered june 2014 .

So I install snake skins over Safari side zip all looks good , but when i go to wrap up i end up with a bunch of extra material in the middle and 75% of the time i cant get the whole hammock in the skins... Really pissing me off, I have two sets both xl and or #4 hh snake skins. I must be doing it wrong? this is the hammock only I have a separate one for hex tarp. I have tried a few different approaches with no luck ... Ideas????

I have an HH expidition bottom entry and it is a tough fit in the skins. My advice is sutff the hammock in a double ended stuff sack and use the skins for a tarp.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. FWIW

I have the same problem. I am not aware of any special way of doing it. Design flaw in my opinion.... They work great for tarps as mentioned above.

I've never tried my skins on my Safari, only on Explorers and tarps. But, the HH site does say "For use with all Hennessy Hammock models". Do you roll the hammock up into a tube before pulling the skins over the hammock?

Yes...This is how Tim does it....you need to start in the middle of the hammock and start rolling the hammock into a roll first. Then slide the snake skins over the hammock. You will still fiddle with the middle to a small extent to get it in the skins...but this should work. The safari is larger than the other hammocks...so it will be a tighter fit. Tim doesn't have a Safari...haven't tried it with that one. Hopefully you will get the skins to work for you.

I have a safari that I can get into the skins. As suggested above, roll the hammock up before sliding on the skins. Then poke the extra exposed hammock into the skins when you get to the middle. The rolling should fix everything. I also make sure the shock cord gets rolled up with the hammock too, so I don't have to fight them into the skins.
