Seems like you not need a zipper on the storage shelf extra pocket as the small stuff would just slide towards the low end. Either way, the extra storage pocket is a great idea and I will have to see about adding on to my BB once I learn how to use my new thread injector.

I don't use the marlinspike hitch on my tree huggers anymore, I picked up a pair of those elephant nose clips and that's a wrap! They are really easy to adjust if you need to and the whoopie cord fits nice and snug into the clip.

I also made myself an adjustable ridgeline out of Zing-it cord! I made it just as if it were a whoopie cord once I realized I could bury Zing-it in it's own channel). Also marked the ARL cord in increments of 2" so I can have a good gauge for future adjustments, works great.

Hey Dutch, instead of a zipper on the shelf pocket, what about a zipper between the shelf and the bug net. you can see the items on the shelf through the net then just unzip to fetch.

I am not nearly daring enough to try this mind you...

Since I got my blackbird, I was thinking about putting a velcro or zipper on the bugnet so that I can access the shelf from the outside of the hammock. This will be located the bottom shelf where it meets the hammock body.
This way I do not have to walk around the hammock to pick something up.
Not too sure how it will hold up
