    Sleeping Bag Thermal Analysis

    Hi there,

I am doing a project involving thermal analysis of sleeping bags. Currently, sleeping bags are tested in a laboratory to determine a temperature rating. I am curious if this sort of analysis could be done as a model in a program like SolidWorks, using the built-in simulation software. I understand this might be a bit specific for this forum, but I thought I would throw it out to you guys regardless. Any ideas or alternatives are very welcome. Thanks!

I dont know about that but I use a Rule of thumb CLO calc.
I think this is fairly accurate for an average to warm sleeper.
If you have a quilt and move around a lot its less IMO.

    Avg temp rating dF = 60dF - (clo * total clo * 10)

I would get one of these and record observations.
