    Question Under quilt and pad?

I bought a Shenandoah UQ for my SBPro but since then I got a WBBB. I bought the double layer 1.7 and it holds my thermarest just fine (the SBPro didn't). I slept on my pad with a 60F ultra light sleeping bag as a top quilt and was fine down to 55F. I'm curious as to what temps I could take the thermarest, the UQ, and 20F sleeping bag (as a TQ), down to. I do like to sleep a little cool

You can take that combo down to any temp. The questions is what is the lowest comfortable temp. Sometimes I wonder about doubling up gear and its effectiveness. Seems to me like the pad will not allow the UQ to do its job as well, I dont know . I would go try it and let you know but low temps are a bit hard to find this time of year in Az. I'm sure others will answer you. I hope anyway because I am curious about this.

Up here in the Nor'east people mix and match pads and quilts all the time. Not at all unusual. I can't speculate as to the temp range it might be good to, but the concept is certainly sound and those kinds of results are very subjective anyway.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
