Keep us updated as the temps drop to see how th 1.5 loft works. They are baffled instead of sewn thru so that should be good for a couple degrees more.
She is waiting on some material and down and should start sewing some more this week. The new ones will be 2.5 loft. I will use the posted interest as a list to go thru as they are ready. If anyone wants the 1.5 UQ please PM me.
Thanks again for everyone that has one and the positive feedback
I just got two of the new 2.5 loft UQ's and like them quite a lot. Hangnout's daughter does nice work, and I love supporting fellow hobbyists and an industrious youngster at the same time.
Buy these quilts!
hey i want one, can she make mine a bit longer though!?!?
ya know, this place is torture. I was sold on hammocking before I got here, and there are all these cool accessories I need ... well, want, anyways, and I would love to have a couple of more hammocks .... argh. Need more money.
We spent some time test-hanging the winter version of the quilt, and I definitely think it will fit my needs, although I'm concerned about how low it will take me. My only complaint is that it would make a lot more sense to do more of a differential baffle on these things. It shouldn't be that much more difficult to use more material on the outer layer of the shell than the inner one, and take some of the guesswork out of tension-ing the quilt. With the current setup, it's pretty easy to over-tension the quilt and completely smash the loft in the shoulder area.
Mustardman, PM sent
The quilt is differential cut and should provide loft at the shoulder. I test hung one of them on a Clark hammock and did not get the compression but on an asym hammock like the WBBB it probably is hung tighter. Make sure the shockcord is not pulled tight and still has stretch when laying in the hammock.
PM me if you need to send one back for us to look at. We will correct if necessary.
