Thanks for offering to check out the quilts, but that won't be necessary - we can hang them a bit looser and mess with the suspension and make them work. Lots of folks hung UQ's without differential baffles for a long time, so we will figure it out.

The difference in our observations is probably because the Clark is symmetrical and the WBBB is asym, so my weight is way to the left of the quilt while you were probably more in the center. I've already got a couple ideas about how to hang the UQ to both match the asym lay of the hammock better and to avoid compressing the down. I'm confident we'll make it work.

Another idea to try...
pull the UQ up higher on your left shoulder.
You can keep in place with something like this
Keeps your shoulder away from the edge of the UQ and into the lofted area.

animalcontrol - I actually was just downstairs messing with setups, and did almost the exact same thing, only with an s-biner through the loop on the BB where the cord for the wing tieout attaches, and then through the shockcord on the UQ. Worked great for keeping the UQ in place, but didn't pull it quite high enough to get the better lofted area over my shoulder. I might add a grosgrain loop lower on the quilt to pull it even higher.

Hello all, I have returned from the Fall Northern Hang up on the SHT. I carried the earlier, 1.5" loft version UQ I purchased from Hangnout. Temps got down to ~21° on Friday night, with snow and a 25+ MPH wind howling straight through my set-up. The wind came on in the middle of the night, and I wasn't going to get up and re-hang broadside, so I just left the wind-tunnel alone.

That little underquilt kept my butt warm and toasty all night at sub freezing temps with wind howling straight down the length of my hammock. Had a chunk of Wal Mart CCF pad wrapped in fleece under my feet, and was inside an REI down bag.

My compliments to Hangnout's daughter, Leigh, for this fine piece of gear!!!

Leigh has (2) 2/3 UQ's with 2.5+ inches of loft available. They are diff cut and the main body is green as pictured earlier in this thread.
