Got this in the email today from Hitchcraft regarding their RopeTie:

Greetings RopeTie users!

I’ve had some feedback from Hennessey Hammock SuperLight users that would like to use the Mini RopeTie but are deterred by the limited load capacity.
Here are a couple of tips that can help you set up the HH SL without overloading the RopeTie.

Tip #1: Use a loop to attach the RopeTie Instead of the standard method – watch the video explaining this on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlYxzvYJYCw

Tip#2: Do not over tension the hammock. When loaded the end ropes should not make an angle of less than 30 degrees with the horizontal. At 30 degrees the tension on each end is equal to the weight of the load (person+gear). At less than 30 degrees the rope is too tight and the tension quickly goes up.
(Tension is equal to the vector sum of half the vertical load plus the horizontal load – when adding those two vectors the vertical load is constant but the horizontal load increases rapidly when the angle gets shallow.

Tip #3: For increased safety use a bowline knot at the head, and adjust with the RopeTie at the foot. That way if the RopeTie is overloaded you won’t fall on your head (generally more fragile than the feet).

To thank return clients here is a bonus site where you can buy more RopeTies at up to 40% discount: http://bit.ly/qqt8R
Give it to your friends too and thanks for spreading the word.

Happy Camping!
