I recently made a hammock for my 5 y/o nephew. Just a simple gathered-end, using amsteel fixed loops to gather then ends. I'm trying to come up with a super simple suspension that would allow him to quickly hang the hammock on his own. I want the suspension to be made of straps, permanently attached to the hammock, adjustable, with minimal hardware, and no knots. I'm picturing the strap leading from the hammock, going around the tree/bunk bed post/porch post/etc., then hooking back onto the strap and pulling the tail end to tighten. Something like a cross between the Dutch Clip and a cinch buckle. I went to Dutch's site, but didn't see what I was looking for.
Has anyone seen such a piece?
Does anyone have any other ideas for a "one piece" simple rig that a 5 y/o could handle with a little practice?
