Just curious, trying to plan ahead. Any dates/reservations in place? I had such a good time at last years! Happy to assist with this year's if needed..

That was a regional mini-MAHHA for folks who didn't want to drive to PA or VA or W. Va, wherever it was.

So if we want to do it again, we should aim for MAHHA weekend 10/10-12.

Sep 11-14 Lighthouse & Lobster in Maine
Oct 10-12 MAHHA @ PGFSP, In Pennsylvania
Oct 24-26 NEHHA in New Hampshire

Ah, didn't realize mini-MAHHA was the point last year, but I guess that makes sense since it was in WV.

If Stokes in available in the weeks following perhaps something 2-6 weeks after MAHHA? Don't really see any point in making people chose one over the other when MAHHA is so close to Stokes..

I also second the need for more Fall hangs, in northern NJ or anywhere really..

That was entirely the point last year - for the people who chose not to drive eight hours (and there were 30+ as I recall). This year, Fall MAHHA is in Pine Grove Furnace, about half the driving distance. So that might appeal to a lot more people.

I would suggest the weekend of 10/24 as a good date, though that conflicts with NEHHA. The following weekend is Halloween and is probably not a good choice for folks with kids. There's a reason people like group hangs in October, 'cause the weather is great. Once we start looking at November dates, I'm fairly certain a lot less people will be interested in colder weather. Our Thanksgiving and Christmas hangs are lucky to get six or eight people 'cause a lot of people have put away their hammocks till spring.

So last year it was the Alternate MAHHA or AMAHHA, this year it coul be the Alternate NEHHA or ANEHHA. I think this year's NEHHA moved further north to a private property locale.

Yeah, I like that idea. I went to Fall NEHHA in Charlemont, MA, last year, since it was only about a four-hour drive. However, this year's NEHHA/Great Pumpkin Hang is in NH, over a six-hour drive so I probably won't make it.
