Since my last outing here was cut short in June, I had to revisit the place and do the loop hike (22 miles) this last weekend. Although it was hot (~100) up top on the mesa portion of the hike, it was well worth the sweat. This canyon (Non-technical) is amazing and I've fallen in love with it. Next time I will extend this loop hike to 3 days and spend two of them down in the canyon swimming, exploring, hanging and just snapping more photos etc. Not many spots for any ground dwellers, but plenty of trees making this canyon a hanger's paradise! The loop is not a leisure hike, so if you're up for it, bring plenty of H2O for day one and prepare to fall in love with Eden in Arizona. Here is a link for a great description

I tried out my new DIY Sil Ny tarp and a PLUQ. Temps did not really call for an UQ, but I was mainly testing it for fit/function etc. Both tarp and UQ worked great, however, I am now convinced that I need pull outs on the tarp. Also, next time a bugnet is going with me.
