The Argon-Sil took on it's first downpour last Saturday and I'm happy as Larry to report, not a drop made it through this mighty fabric. In conclusion, I have no regrets in choosing Argon-Sil for this project
I hummed and hawed over hybrid french hem vs. gross-grain sandwich for the ridge-line. In the end, I went with the less risky folded gross-grain (single pass binding), Although I'd prefer the french hem, the second line of exposed perforation (3rd stitch pass) increases the odds of leaking (without additional sealant). As for the hem on the panels, they are a hybrid rolled hem, I added a fine ribbon to the fabric edge then rolled it in on the second pass. I wanted some strength/reinforcement without adding the bulk of GG all the way around.
