DIY Hex Tarp

Just got done with my DIY tarp for my Yukon Outfitters hammock setup. I took an idea off the web and modified it to be my own hex tarp design.

It is 125" x 72" at the base.
Made from 4 mil drop cloth, Duct tape over paracord and Gorilla tape loops on the top and bottom.

I have 3 loops on the top instead of running the ridgeline under the material as I figured it would have greater strength on the loops and I would a avoid any friction between the tarp material and my rope.

Haven't tested it yet but I feel pretty confident that it will be secure.

Thanks. I will take more pictures of the loops and try to set it up in the next week or 2.

I am also planning on spray painting it a light olive color. I haven't seen anyone do this yet so hopefully the paint designed specifically for plastic will work on this.

That will certainly add some weight to it, but it is probably already very light. Keep us posted, I'd like to see how this turns out. I may actually have to make one of these for my son.
