The older, ¼" thick pad is the only under insulation I've ever used in my Hennessy and, with the rest of my sleep system, it's kept the cold away in temps into the mid-20s.

Is this the same material that Ed Speer sells?

Yes, Evazote is EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer)... same thing Ed sells. I think his is 1/4" thick.
