    !!!!!Thunderbird arrives!!!!!

Well after several changes and many emails back and forth my Thunderbird has arrived. I did a quick hang just to see how everything worked and to check the comfort, this weekend I will use it on a trip and get pictures. Only one word can describe it, WOW, don't really know any other way to explain my initial thoughts. Thanks to Papasmurf for recommending the permanently attached netting so I could get the extra zippers. After seeing how lightweight the overcover is I would probably go with the Dangerbird next time just because I probably won't ever need to leave it behind. I love the feel of the Dbl 1.0/1.1 fabric as well. This hammock rocks, and it is really freaking huge. Love it love it love it. Thanks Smurfs for you help and hard work. Pictures to come after the weekend.

I agree, I received mine a couple of weeks ago and have a similar set up. I am #1073. I was very surprise how light and compact my T-Bird with perm attached Netting really is. No need for a blanket to cover up at night. BAM once the temp drops to below 65 degrees the overcover goes on. I absolutely love it. The next one will probably be a Dangerbird.

That's what I decided too. I got my Thunderbird a week ago but it ended up being too short for the lay I prefer. I ordered a longer one but this time I made it a Dangerbird. I don't see needing to leave the over cover home much either and I like the maxed out 12 zip option for easy exit on either side.

congrats Lazy Lightning, you reached 50 posts. you can sell things on here now.
Papasmurf has great hammocks, and that's why I have 2 different ones. once his new mods come out for the thunderbird I will be emailing him to see what my options are to "upgrade" my thunderbird to peak pockets and even the head vent to move those zippers down a bit.
