I just got my ridgerunner in the mail today and love it, I just don't know why this was in my saddle bag, was it an accident or does it have a purpose, the string was in the bag in a saddlebag pocket.

Them's the string for to catch drips. Before it rains, you'll want to cut that into two or four pieces and tie them on both ends of your hammock (inside where the tarp covers it). Don't lose 'em, now...
^This...intended to be cut up and used for drip strings.
Good to know.

Thanks for this, I didn't know what it was for either. I just got my RR and was about to search to find out the purpose for this... now I don't have to.
Like thrash metal? Check out my nephew's band, Deathwatch. He's an amazing drummer... https://soundcloud.com/user-660860695
I cut it in half...then half again. Tied each of the 4 pieces into the middle of the amsteel suspension. Then I slid each down toward the hammock body and it will snug up on the fatter part of the splice bury. Stays in place!
Is that a RR specific thing. Didn't see one with my BB.

You need to put them on bug net tie outs also.
