6' 2" @ 330 I used a WBBB 1.7 double for three years with zero issues. I just bought an XLC that I'll be trying out this Fall/Winter but I don't expect to have any issues. Get the Blackbird 1.7 double, you will love it and it will serve you well. I used to be a tent camper, no more! Read my signature line........

Good point. I have a tarp that might work - it measures 128x62 or there abouts. Would that be large enough to work with the Blackbird or Blackbird XLC?

Well I decided to go with the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC with winter cover and the Superfly tarp. Hope to be hangin' it up by Labor Day

Good choice Saluki. That is my favorite camping hammock + tarp combo super comfortable and warm in the winter. Long term it may actually save you money over buying a lot of cheaper alternatives and not being satisfied with them. Resist the urge to collect unnecessary gear, the force is strong within you... LOL.

I'm a big guy and have been pretty happy with my Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro so far. It didn't cost an arm and a leg either for me to find out if hammock camping was for me or not!

Try and get in touch with Capt Smiley ( part of the SC crowd ), he is the heaviest hanger I have met to date.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

My summer camping buddy is 325 pounds. Always slept on the ground. We went camping, he got intrigued by my ridgerunner and the idea of hammock hanging. Went out and bought himself a Skeeter Beater Pro. Felt like heaven to him. I think he will eventually upgrade to the XLC but for the price a Skeeter Beater Pro cannot be beat.
