    Funny comment, thanks.

Yes, I come from that old-school philosophy of tent camping. Start with the stakes and footprint, and build from there.

I guess I should have started my hammock stuff with the tree straps, or maybe the whoopieslings, whatever the heck those are.

    Guys, Big News.
I set up the tarp today in the backyard (yesterday I couldn't because of irrigation.)

Anyway, my sorry tarp looks so sweet that I had to chase off a couple of Hammocker International photographers. They were looking for some shots of next month's issue. Maybe the cover.

So if anyone wants a picture of my incredible set up, just shoot me a ten spot on Pay Pal.

(It is looking good though----a lot of the asymmetry disappeared. Looks like a diamond, and plenty big. My only concern is if the floorsaver tie outs aren't solid, but its description says you can use it as a tarp.)

Here's the backyard set up. Didn't get many takers on the PayPal proposition.

I think you did the right thing. Half the fun in this hobby is trying things. I sleep outside every single night in my Clark nx-250, regardless of the weather, and every night I think of something I would like to do to improve some part of my hanging kit, pack, etc., etc. As long as the cost of the experiment is not more than you care to risk, carry on.
    Keep up the good work.
