    Yukon Outfitters fly

Has anybody got any "real world" reviews of these flys? I bought two off of woot, but I have yet to use them in the rain, and I really dont want the first time to be on the trail. The only time Ive had rain since I bought them, it was not a good night to sleep outside. Too much lightning. I saw someone say the seams were sealed, just wondering if they are sealed right.

Time for a hose test. Set up your rig and spray it down.

I spent last night under mine. Its been a very wet week and I had leaves constantly dripping on me. About 1 am, a thunderstorm blew through but I stayed dry, no sign of moisture on the underside of the tarp. I pitched the fly ridgeline close to the hammock and staked the sides out pretty far to avoid hammock/tarp contact. I was also pretty well protected by leaf cover but the topside of the tarp was soaked nonetheless. In my yard I was worried about coverage but found better trees in the woods an was able to cover the whole hammock and suspension points. It was my first night ever in a hammock and I'd do it again without worry.

Did you use a ridge line, or just the grommets?

I used the grommets and the included ropes. I did change out the stakes for Groundhogs. Going through the adjustment dance, I'm considering a ridgeline to make setup easier.
