Beautiful weather is the forecast for this event !!
This hang is really growing this year, i think we were at around 71 attending last years fall Mahha at Watoga and we are way past that mark allready.
Pine grove furnace is the perfect spot for this size crowd, plenty of great trees to hang from with room to spare.
Really looking foward to seeing old friends as well as meeting and making some new ones,, it's getting closer and will be here before you know it, even though it seems like a long wait for me as i'm ready NOW!, sorry jwright it's just one sheet

It will just be my 7yr old son and I. I'm pretty sure we're going, but I won't know 100% until the week of.

Deal! If I sign up and don't make it, I'll make all of the above and put them in the PIF thread.

Hold me to it, I'm not kidding!

What time is good to arrive Friday? And what could I bring to contribute food wise? And how far is the camp from the parking?

Also, how many more questions can I ask before someone slaps me?

    First group hang, hanger here.

    I know. You couldn't tell.

Good questions. You can camp about 50 to 100 feet away from where you park. Anytime Friday is fine to come. I will be there early. We will be supplying the meat (chicken and ribs) so think sides. Like veggies, salads, pasta, or desserts. Also things like plates, plastic ware, and paper towel are very useful.

    Alright, thanks man.

Well, I like squash, corn, or zucchini. Anyone have a preference? I'm more inclined to squash and zucchini because they're so easy to cook in a foil pack on the grill. A little garlic, salt, pepper, and butter... Mmmm.

So how's squash, zucchini, butter, and foil sound? Or does the side need to be precooked? If not, I can prepackage and season the foil packs. Don't know if there's already too much to cook on site though.

    What say ye, hammock folk?

    Some notes and reminders
No alcohol. It is prohibited in the park.
Car pooling. Parking is very limited. If you can park out in the area of the pavilion after you unload it will be helpful. If you park someone in write a note on the windshield of the car parked in so they know who you are.
Local firewood is welcome. There isn't much ground pickings. Don't bring firewood from other states. We have enough bugs killing out trees.
Saturday breakfast is from 8am until 10am.
    Saturday Dinner is at 5pm
Raffle is right after dinner. We got a lot of really good raffle prizes form the various venders this year. All the cottage shops that I asked have donated or committed to donation. There will be many hammocks.

Most importantly come for the fun. This is one of the longest running and biggest hangs of the year. You will see cool gear and great people. I have never seen anyone have a bad time at a MAHHA. Kids really have a blast. There will be classes and cool gear. Don't be afraid ask to see someone's gear. Most people are very proud of their set up whether bought or DIY'd. The people who come are all friendly. Be prepared to chat. The area around the park has great hiking. The half way marker of the AT is very close and there are smaller trails though the park.

    some day, some day.

Been wanting to make this for quite some time. Always been a bit of a lone hiker, time to come out of the shell. Maybe next year. Im just going to miss it coming
    back from Afghanistan.
