    Sorry you are correct.

However my 12" loops and whoopies with 10" buries have not given me any issues.

But you can also search the threads Dutchware has Amsteel at 5.50 for 25'. http://dutchwaregear.com/hammock-stuff/
Dutch has Amsteel Blue for $22.00 for 100 feet. I don;t know what Dutch charges for shipping, but I can bet it is not $28.00.

That sounds good to me. Personally I would not want to hang from a loop much smaller in circumference than 12" of 7/64" Amsteel or dyna-glide. With the tapers etc the bury would be about 10". gmcttr has a lot of experience you could PM him directly if someone is concerned. Samson's guidelines confuse me because my fid is not the same length as theirs. Perhaps someone discussed this in detail not this continuous loop sticky thread:

There was also a calculator out there somewhere for buries and diameter of dyneema. But having the CL inside the sewn channel of the hammock would seem to provide some additional friction or grabbing strength to me but I may be wrong about that. I.e. the application of the bury can make a difference. Bottom line for me is if you get 2-3 adults to sit in the hammock and can observe no sliding of the bury it is most likely fine.

    A fid is 21 x the diameter.

So my practice is to make all of my buries 3 fids long. A fid is 21x the diameter of the rope. So a fid for 7/64" Amsteel would be around 2.3", and I therefore use a bury of 6.9", which roughly 63x the diameter of the line. Here are the instructions for an end-to-end splice and an eye splice, both of which use buries of 3 fids, including the taper:

The whoopie sling instructions that you posted above recommend a bury of 2 fids, but don't include a taper.

Since I use a bury of 3 fids, the smallest continuous loop that I can make from 7/64" Amsteel is around 14" in circumference, which is what I have attached to the ends of my hammock.
    Good and accurate info here.
