    New to Hammocks

Im getting ready to buy a new Double ENO. There are alot of extras that I can buy with it. I have no clue what to get. What type of straps, Rainfly, bug net and any other things that i would need? Again im brand new to the hammock scene. I will be using it on my section hikes of the A.T. Thanks!!!

There are a lot of options when it comes to the ENO hammocks, whether single or double. Use the search function here to check into what you need, but there are a couple things you should know beforehand:

    1) Avoid ENO's SlapStrap products in any form. They are made of nylon and as such, have a lot of stretch to them. Stay far, far away from this product.

    2) Also stay away from ENO's tarps. They have notoriously poor coverage, are heavy, and are overpriced, particularly considering the aforementioned poor coverage.

That said, good luck in your search. Remember, trying out different gear is half the fun.

Only get the ENO double its a good hammock. All other ENO stuff is lacking. You can get some webbing off the internet from strapworks or Jacksrbetter. A bug net from Warbonnet guy. A tarp from Ed Speers, Brian at OES, or from the Jacks at jacksrbetter. I'm out of time so I will post the websites for these guys later... unless someone beats me to it

Thanks for the info! What size tarp would be best for the ENO double? I was maybe looking at a Tarp from Brian at OES. Thanks.

I have 2 standards but I am looking to get a delux. I think it is perfect for year round coverage.

I use either a Claytor Diamond or Speer Winter Tarp with my ENO. Just depends on my mood and the weather.

If you definitely want an OES tarp, IMO go with a deluxe. It's a perfect all around size for most weather.

Get the Deluxe for the greatest versatility. But, the Standard is an excellent tarp and will provide plenty of coverage for your ENO if weight is any concern.
Thinking about getting a tarp from OES is always a good line of thinking.

FYI, OES doesn't make a tarp with doors on the ends (if you need that in the winter). Brian will make you custom if you request one
If you need doors, speer wintertarp, jrb 11x10, warbonnet (removeable) all make tarps that you can close off in winter use...
