    Warm weather underquilt

I am looking for a warm weather underquilt. Somewhere in the 40° to 60° range. Hoping for something relatively cheap as well, so if it is in the hundreds I can't afford it.

If cheap is what you want, buy a military poncho liner for around $20 or so, trim and hem to your specs. I kept mine full length even though it's long so I can pull over my head for added warmth. Easy to breathe through.

You'll need to add a puffy jacket, etc to get down to 60deg though. Great piece of gear.

I have one of those but it doesn't help much. I'm looking more towards some lightweight synthetic material since down is out of the question in my price range.

If your into MYOG/DIY, look up IX UQ's. They are synthetic and can get you to your range for less than $100.

I used 2 yards of mylar infused polybatting from Walmart, $5/yrd and some $1.50/yrd fabric to make a torso length UQ. 2 layers of batting, fabric, grosgrain for channels, shockcord for suspension. I used this UQ down to 23*F and made it for less than $20 or so. The TQ is also synthetic and 2 of these (mine and wife) cost less than $30 in supplies.

Also, AHE has synthetic UQ for a good price.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Sent you a PM about an IX DIY model.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

I'm going to pass on the offer Kanguru. I might just pick up one of the diy kits myself and save the extra $30.

If you are going with a DIY IX model I think you will find it a good project. And you will enjoy having made it yourself!

Thanks. I'm still up for offers in the $50 range since this is a lazy Saturday.
