Glad to have all of you!

What Grinder said. There's another "pond", as well, on the other side of the campsites; Crooked Sapling Pond. That being said, it varies from being a mud puddle to a wet prairie area more than an actual pond, in my limited experience (I don't usually venture out to that side of the oak hammock much).

There are a lot of new faces coming on in. How cool is that?

Looks like possible showers for this year's hang. Same as last year, will probably be wet on the hike in and beautiful at evening.
Yeah, it's beautiful up here in Gainesville right now: 70*, overcast, and breezy. The last two days have been the first time I've been able to leave the windows open at night since March or April. I think I might be able to all day today!

It's looking like a slightly larger crowd than normal, but we've got the space. I'm really looking forward to this one!

I'm easy to spot. I'm bald headed and I have a tattoo on my right forearm.

Also I will be bringing my Biolite stove and the Grill attachment if anyone wants to cook any meat. It is large enough for 3-4 hamburgers to be cooked at one time.

They're going to be bringing their Crappie poles just in case. Both said " A bad day fishing beats a good day at school." Can't wait to meet everyone.

Cool, we had Biolite donate one of their stoves to one of our big annual hangs' raffle one year. It will be neat to see the new grill attachment.

It was sure nice to have you in July. Sorry you won't make this one, now that's it's a little cooler.

    There will be others.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Some have been added. Some have dropped out. Some are still wondering. Some have no doubt.

Just a few more days to prepare and have a go at it. First time out in a long time for a few. Personally, I can't wait.

Gumbo & I just did a test load of our new packs. Man there's a lot of stuff in there!!
With everything but two liters of water in each bladder, her pack weighs in at 21.7#, mine at 27.4#. So we're coming in at <20% of our body weight. That was our goal.

    Alrighty then, I'M READYYY!!!!!

Much nicer weights than my first hike through Ocala. I think, due to water and slight over-packing, that I wound up with something in the 40-lb range. You'll enjoy not having to carry heavy packs, for sure!
