    RidgeRunner Hammock Stand

I will be living away from home (post-graduate school) for the next several years. I only have a car and thus no way to transport a mattress easily. So I chose to get a hammock (ridgerunner). It has been quite comfortable outside. I want to use it, but do not have the tools or the time to make a DIY hammock stand (and since I am renting I do not want to put anything into studs). I will be ordering a hammock stand that I can take down and transport from Amazon. Since the ridgerunner requires a longer distance between hanging points for a flatter lay, how long should my hammock stand be? Is a 15 foot hammock stand too long and would it mess up the hanging angle (I am not too worried about my head or feet being at the same level). I am looking at the "Vivere 15BEAM-ORB Heavy Duty 3-Beam Hammock Stand, 15-Feet":http://www.amazon.com/Vivere-15BEAM-...8164538&sr=1-2

Would that stand work or does it mess up the hanging angle too much?

Thanks for any insights and help!

The 15' span is good for the ridgerunner. I have been using this one in the yard:

I added a 6" loop to the head end and it has worked out pretty good for me.

In my basement I am using my WBRR between two posts that are just over 15' apart. I use a section of chain fastened to the posts, remove the straps, and use a shakle to connect the small triangle to the chain. Gives all the adjustment you need. One of the attachment points on the posts needs to be several inches higher than the other to elevate the foot end a bit. I can hang this hammock in my upstairs hanging room in a space just short of 13', but obviously not the flexibility of adjustment. Good luck on your stand.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I would check craigslist before committing to that purchase. I'm going to pick this up after work today to keep in my backwoods. I hang semi frequently back there, and my favorite two trees need a break.
