After two back surgeries for me this summer and a bout of Vestibular disease for Buddy we were finally able to get out and do some backpacking this weekend. We took the Appalachian Trail from Three Forks up to Long Creek Falls. It's only a four mile out and back but it felt good to be back on the trails again. It's a popular day hike destination so we had plenty of company at the falls. Saturday's count was 66 people and 25 dogs came to visit the falls. When we left out Sunday after lunch there had been 23 people and 6 dogs drop by to check things out. Since the ground around the falls area is not level there is no place to set up a t#*t but not a problem for us hangers. I set up on the far side of the clearing to be out of folks way and offer some privacy for camp. It was a great first trip after recovering and we're already looking forward to the next one.

Our home for the weekend.
View from the hammock.
Buddy chillaxing on his sleeping bag.
I normally don't have a fire if I'm solo but my grandson gave me a folding camp saw for Father's day so it was time to test it out.
Haven't used the ol Esbit stove in a while and it did a great job of breakfast from the hammock.
