    hello hello

Hey everybody! I'm in Missouri and spent my first night in a hammock last week. It was great but realize I need more practice so I'll be planting a square tree (4x4) in my backyard so I can setup whenever I want!

I'd like to thank Shug for his great videos!

You'll want to sick that square tree pretty far in order to make sure you don't pull it over. My brother pulled over a set of washline poles that were concreted about 3 feet deep. Another option is to use the 4 x 4 to suspend some sort of beam, and hang below that. Then, your inward forces are on the beam, and not the pole. Food for thought.

    Welcome!

Welcome from Philly, you might want to look at the metal pipe stand. I have one and love it.

When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome from Florida. You may want to reconsider the 4x4's as someone reported failures.
