    Hex Fly Math

OK, I confess that Trig and Calc are WAY in my past so someone please help me. In doing a forum search, I found a calculator to plot points for a curve BUT I can't seem to find help with the math on figuring out how deep a curve should be on a hex tarp. Can one of you math wizzes point me in the right direction for determining the correct curve to use on a hex tarp (I assume it is different for each length and width of tarp.)

You don't have to worry much about the math. Fronkey did a recent tarp making video where he showed how to use a simple string and a desired depth of arc to make your cat cut.

If you want actual plans, here is a link to the famous DIY Black cat tarp.

I guess what I am asking for is how do I determine the correct depth of the curve... I am assuming there is a right depth and a wrong depth mathematically. Is that an incorrect assumption?

Just read the guide. Thanks. If I understand, he recommends 1 to 1.25" per linear foot of curve. I will use that as a starting point for experimenting.

I use 3/4" per foot with silnylon and the pitch comes out nice and tight.
