I would be happy to help anyone or offer some tips. As to directions on this one, probibly not. This was one of those projects that turned out, but was a huge pain to get there. More of a fact that I need to stop cutting out the material in the middle of the night than anything else. But I am getting good at covering up my mistakes.

If I followed Just Jeff's hammock sock directions (loosely), except with noseeum, would I be going down the right track? Kinda sorta?

That is how I am going to be making one for my dad to use soon. If you use a drawstring, make sure to make the area in the drawstring is large. On one of mine it was only around .5-1". I am going to try something on the order of 2" on my quilt. I think it makes it easier to get a good closure.

Tim, I've actually wanted to put a few of your projects on my site but I've just been busy. I'm traveling now so I have a bit of time in the evenings sometimes...and HE's just popped up at the right time.

So I'm probably gonna update some of my pages while I'm up here...you're sure to show up on there (with permission for each pic, of course)! Esp. the insulated hammock and the end caps. How do you do your bug protection?

    bug protection??? whats at?
i've been fortunate in the places i go that i've not had a lot of bug problems... mostly pesky gnats & flies, but i do plan to make something soon.
it's basically going to be the same as the travel pod i have planed.
i shared the zipper idea w/ BB & i believe he may be planing to use that lay out for the zippers too.
i'll have one long zipper from the foot end that ends/separates just above the head.
from that point where the long zipper separates above the head, there will be two short zippers (24"???) going strait down to just below the sides of the hammock, forming a tee.
either one, or both sides of the net can be attached to the ridge line. that way you can open one side to get in/out or to reach something.
or you can open both sides & store the net between the hammock & the under quilt.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I hear that - I have so many drawings that I just haven't gotten around to prototyping, and a few beginnings of projects sewn but still sitting in the box.

    A few page updates...
    - Tim's End caps and a pic at the bottom of the Hammock Camping main page
    - A link to the BlackCat DIY instructions
