Video: Hut to Hut Hike of New Hampshire's White Mountains Part 1

So this wasn't a backpacking or hammock trip, but it should give you an idea of why hanging isn't possible above tree line in the Whites (not to mention illegal outside of AMC run campsites )

I organized a group through DC Backpackers Meetup. 26 people over 24 miles with 10K feet of elevation gain. The Whites can be brutal, but fortunately we had "good" weather. 20 mph winds, foggy drizzle, and 50ish degrees. Perfect!

My daughter, her new-to-hiking boyfriend, and my retired dad ("Fast Eddie") joined me on this hike, so we had 3 generations summiting together!

I have only had my Macbook 2 weeks, so playing with iMovie and Keynote was a little bit of a learning curve.. I broke the video up into days, since I had so much footage to cut down. The video is pretty shaky cos I did it with my phone....

Definitely an adventure. I am blessed my dad is in shape to do this with me, and my daughter is a good enough sport to go along

I appreciate it. iMovie has a much steeper learning curve than Windows Movie Maker, but other than text editing allows the user to do more with audio.

Definitely! http://www.meetup.com/dc-backpackers/ Don't let the size of the group scare you off. We have a lot of smaller backpacking, hiking, and trail maintenance trips come up all the time. The wilderness areas have a 10 person limit...

And you are welcome! The videos take a lot of time but I do like the live-action format for bringing back specific memories...
