    I'm back, Starting Over

Took a serious downturn with my health and sold off all my hammock gear. Now I'm starting over, and looking to spend around 1000 dollars to get back into the game. Looking for a setup that will be sufficient for the Mt. Rogers hang in January. I still have my pack, cook ware, and all that jazz.

I need an underquilt, quilt, hammock, and tarp. I have my ENO single, but honestly I hate it.

I was thinking JRB Old Rag, JRB Mount Washington.

Can't decide on Hammock or Tarp.

Have honestly been thinking about going back to ground and using JRB quilts

Thanks 2 weeks in Norton Community Hospital and a couple ER visits made for an interesting spring semester. Still managed to pull deans list at the college, and managed to work my butt off this summer to rebuy all my gear. Decisions decisions.

Welcome back! Two weeks in Norton Community Hospital is scary enough without being sick

I can say that since I was born there.

    If any help...

I see you are in Wise VA. I am in Galax. Would offer to let you some stuff until you can get sorted out. I have a long Mt Washington that you can try to see if you like it. Also have some spare hammocks and tarp. 9X9 Noahs Tarp. Have just aqqired a JRB BMBH too. Also Peapod you could see if you like that. Are you back in shape for some hiking? If so we could meet somewhere and hang out...maybe up near Grayson Highlands.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.

Thanks I really appreciate that. Not so much back in shape yet, need a couple weeks back in Wise to get used to the air again. I'll probably be sticking to very short hikes and just camping for awhile.

Glad you're back WrongTurn! Even happier you're healthy.
$1,000, go top shelf on everything; why not? Big ol fluffy quilts from the Jacks, rock solid tarp from Brian, and you're already on the right hammock track. Scary how easy it is to go through a grand.
