    Hello, from southeast MI!

    Hi everyone!

I'm brand new to the hammock scene. I discovered hammock camping on the internet, and became hooked on the idea. I have a Warbonnet Black Bird XLC and Super Fly tarp on order. Even though I don't yet have the hammock and tarp, I'm already awaiting my second order from Dutch based on a number of cool ideas I have read about here! I'm half hoping I don't like the hammock, as I fear I may go broke not being able to resist the urge to order all of the cool things I am coming across. lol Tons of great reading on this site!

Every hike begins with the first step and ends with the last one, it is all the steps in between that create all the memories.

Hello from the Livonia area! Hope you get your Superfly and BBXLC soon. I am a Warbonnet fan myself (chose the Warbonnet Bridge Hammock-Ridgerunner). We are having a MI Hammock Hang/Chili Cookout on October 10-13 at Yankees Spring Recreation area in Middleville. There is a thread under the Midwest Outings Section of the forums. A bit of a drive for you and I but well worth it to see new setups, try out gear, and win gear in raffles.

Welcome to the forum from another hanger in north Oakland County. You'll find tons of great information here and everyone will have their own opinion. That's what makes it a great place to hang out. Get out to a hang if you can and enjoy the madness!

I second going to the Fall Hang in October. It is great fun and the best way to learn a bunch about hammocks and hammock camping. Our vendors here have donated a bunch of goodies that we will be raffling off, they really are supportive of our community. It will be well worth the drive, trust me!
