    VT > Green River Reservoir canoe/kayak/fishing/hang, Sept.12-15th

    Hello!

I have a few days of vacation coming soon and I am planning a trip to Green River Reservoir on Sept. 12th to 15th inclusively. This State Park is remote-camping only and camp sites are only accessible via cartop boats (canoe or kayak).

I will leave on Friday morning and plan to arrive at the park around noon. I am trying to get site #8 which is the most hammock-friendly and can accept 4 persons. Dogs are welcome although I won't bring mine. I plan to do some bass fishing and a lot of chilling at the camp.

I was planning this trip with a friend that had to cancel. I will do alone anyways and everyone is welcome to join me.

My site will be paid so the first 3 persons to join me won't have anything to pay for camping, just the daily access fee to park. Other sites are available for $15/night if more people come.

Interactive map of the place here.

    Who will join me?

    I'd rather be hanging.

Wow! Looks great! I can't make this trip, but would appreciate any reconnaissance you could do into hammock friendly sites there. I vacation in VT every august (just got back a week ago) and would love to add a few days at this location next year to the trip.

Have a great trip. It looks awesome!

    Hello Suede !

I did explore most sites last year and they were all suitable for hanging a 10' hammock. Sites #5 through 9 are better if you have a 11'+ hammock. Be aware that most trees to hang from might have dripping sap and I strongly suggest using 2" tree huggers.

I might end up cancelling this trip to attend the EGL Hang in Algonquin Park.

Thanks for the info PatT! Definitely on my bucket list. If you plan another trip I will try to make it. Although I only have 1" THs, I will keep that in mind too.

have a great trip wherever you end up.

Simply wrap around twice! I mention that because the trees on most sites have a very smooth bark. You don't want your THs to slide neither you want to damage the trees.
